DISPATCH 09-11-11 LOS ANGELES
09-11-111220 hrs. Back in Los Angeles. I watched some news at KCRW last night and saw all I needed. Even with the sound off, watching the heads of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld. Giuliani move just made me more angry. They are not in any way heroes. They are at their very least lethal mere bullshit artists and at their worst criminals. The only time these skells should be raising their heads on this day is to beg that they can all be placed in the same tier so they can have yard time together. Past that, these creeps should just shut up and crawl back into the darkest possible shadows.

I had to keep going back and re-writing parts as I kept noticing typos and other mistakes. I am low on sleep since getting back here yesterday. I am starting to even out somewhat. I slammed all those words out of a steno pad and into the computer and went onto other stuff. I should have looked it over more closely. Sorry for torturing you if you had to slog through that. You deserve better from me.
Haiti was tough trip. I learned a lot and got a lot from it. I will be talking about the trip on the next tour. Sitting here right now, if you don’t mind, I don’t feel like writing about it. I will get at it later in the week or next weekend. The situation was so dire that I am allowing myself a break from thinking about it for a little while. Thinking about what I saw along with what’s happening on this day, it’s something I will put on the shelf for a moment.
The thing that bugs me the most about the ten year anniversary of the 9-11-01 attacks is not the attack itself, that’s over with and there’s nothing that can be done to bring any of those people back or lessen any of the rage or sadness and there will be plenty of that for years to come. What bugs me is what it has turned into.
I think it’s good that no one forgets what happened but with time should come some wisdom and that’s what I am not seeing. I am just seeing the media going back to the same wound and ripping it open again to get the same ratings/bleed factor. It’s cheap and manipulative. Nothing good will come from it.
My thoughts are not with those who died on 9-11-01. Don’t take that the wrong way. I am not trying to be callous. My thoughts are with the living as they are the only ones who can shape the future and mark the way forward. It all depends on if people want to get up the road. That’s where the wisdom and lessons learned come into play. That’s what I want to be a part of.
