Fanatics! I am back from tour and the steaming jungles of SE Asia. I am looking forward to getting back there and luckily for me, I will be sooner than later. Details when I get them. I wanted to let you know, I really tried to bring back some interesting music from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam but the only music was able to find was CDRs of mainstream acts that are bootlegged big time there. Perhaps I will have better luck next time. I put together tonight’s show here and there over a period of weeks and finalized it the other night and have played it a few times and I think it’s a good one. Engineer X and I will be putting together some pre-tapes for later in the summer as I will be gone again but fear not, the shows will be great and there will be nothing spared to make them worth your while. I am almost spoiled for choice with all the new music I have gathered for our enjoyment over the next several months. I will throw this stuff into the mix as the weeks go by. Tonight we have a treat, the Psychotic Petunias leader Mike Koeslar generously donated a clean copy of the band’s version of Louie, Louie to replace the crunchy vinyl version I was going to play tonight. Thanks for that Mike! Also, we have two tracks that are not going to turn up any time soon anywhere, we have a great version of Suicide’s Rocket USA that a Fanatic sent in. Sounds like a demo or single attempt pre first album. I lost the man’s letter and his name but do write in again, Fanatic so we can sing your praises. Also, a track by a band called Strange Fruit which were The Need under a new name. Hard to find and donated by a band member. I am already prepping next week’s shows along with some really cool pre-tapes as X and I will be doing 2-3 a week. It’s a lot of work but you’re worth it, Fanatics! -- Windy Weber of Windy & Carl fame has released a solo album called I Hate People and it’s really cool and there is a very limited vinyl run that features a completely different mix than the CD. I reckon you should get both! I will be playing an excerpt from the album next week so get ready for that. -- Sun Ra’s Media Dreams album is now on CD for those of you unburdened with a turntable. You can find it and many other nice things here: http://www.forcedexposure.com/. Aso, there are going to be a lot of Sun Ra rarities and re-issues set for release in the warmer months. Should be a good summer to have ears.

-- New Fall album Imperial Wax Solvent is a good return to form and worth checking out. I have not heard my vinyl edition yet but I am liking the CD very much.
